First Use & Refueling
Your lighter is ready to use after refueling.
Internal parts are already installed and matched — no need to replace anything at the start.
Fuel recommendation:
Zippo or ZORRO lighter fuel is recommended for stable ignition and long-term use.

What to Do When the Flame Becomes Small
Flame Is Too Small
Check the wick length, cotton packing, and fuel flow inside the insert. A small flame usually means the wick is too short or the cotton is packed too tightly to draw fuel smoothly.

How to Improve WEDO Lighter Ignition
Doesn’t Light Easily
First check whether the flint is almost used up. If the flint is still sufficient, check the flint wheel condition and direction. A strong spark is the key to stable ignition.

How to Fix a Stiff Bolt Slot
Bolt Feels Stiff
Check whether the O-ring has been squeezed out of place or the spring is installed incorrectly. Lock the bolt into the side slot first, then reinstall the spring and bottom cap.

Heat Test
After continuous ignition for about one minute,
the body will heat up — this is normal for metal.
Under normal use, it won’t become too hot to hold.

How do I refill a WEDO lighter for the first time?
To refill a WEDO lighter for the first time, open the lighter according to the care instructions, add lighter fuel slowly into the cotton chamber, and let the fuel absorb before lighting. WEDO lighters ship without fuel for shipping safety, so fuel must be added before first use.
What should I do if the flame becomes small?
If the flame becomes small, the most common reason is that fuel is not reaching the wick smoothly. First, check whether the wick has become too short. If needed, gently pull the wick out a little so it can draw fuel better.
If the flame is still small after adjusting the wick, the cotton inside the insert may be packed too tightly. Loosen and fluff the cotton slightly so the fuel can move more smoothly through the lighter.
What should I do if my WEDO lighter does not light easily?
If your WEDO lighter does not light easily, first check whether the flint is almost used up. If the flint is still sufficient, check whether the flint wheel is badly worn or installed in the wrong direction.
A normal flint wheel can usually last more than six months under regular use. As long as the spark is strong enough, the lighter should have a stable ignition rate.
What should I do if the bolt slot feels stuck?
If the bolt slot feels stuck or the bolt does not move smoothly, check whether the O-ring on the insert has been squeezed out of place, or whether the spring has been installed incorrectly.
A simple fix is to lock the bolt into the side slot first, then place the spring back in position and reinstall the bottom cap. In most cases, this will help the bolt action move smoothly again.
Will a WEDO lighter get hot during continuous burning?
Like any metal lighter, a WEDO lighter can become warm during extended continuous burning. Our heat test shows how the lighter behaves when lit for a longer period, but we still recommend using it normally, avoiding unnecessary long burns, and allowing the lighter to cool if it feels hot.
